CRM Spending on the Rise

According to aggregated reports compiled by eMarketer, CRM software spending is on the rise. IDC predicts that worldwide CRM software sales will increase by a compound annual growth rate of 8.9% between 2004 and 2008, while Datamonitor estimates that sales of CRM software in North America will grow by 5.2% during 2005. For its part, AMR Research has found that large enterprises expect to increase their CRM budgets by an average 2.3% this year, and by an additional 8.2% in 2006. With the return to steady economic growth, businesses have begun to move away from their focus on customer retention, and are once again interested in customer acquisition. As a result, sales force applications are seeing particularly strong interest among companies of all sizes.
